Erik Bünger is a Swedish artist, writer and composer living in Berlin. Throughout his work he investigates human language by focusing on linguistic concepts, which explicitly point to something beyond the linguistic realm. Concepts such as 'voice', 'body', 'animal', 'life' and 'nature' signify areas that are often assumed to stand in direct opposition to language and become zones of indeterminacy – simultaneously inside and outside language. In performances, videos, text pieces, installations and musical compositions, he explores how such concepts, by referring to something mute and unspeakable beyond the reach of language, become central voids around which our linguistic reality is built up.
